

Adriana Liberto was a deeply religious lady who went to her true home in heaven on 2-16-18. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church where she was active in the choir, and was a Faith Formation teacher. Adriana was a natural leader who devoted her life to teaching and helping others. Her love for children and making her community stronger, were driving components in her life. Adriana was a devoted wife, mom, daughter, and community leader. She was born to Santiago & Manuela Sanchez on 9-25-51 in Laredo, TX and graduated from TWU with her Master's in Education. She began her teaching career at the Defense Language Institute. Later she taught for many years at both DISD & GISD. She played an instrumental role in helping those less fortunate & considered her teaching a ministry. She met the love of her life, Sal Liberto and they were married in 1986 in Laredo at St. Agustin Catholic Church. Together they built a thriving real-estate business which included management and acquisition of residential and commercial properties. Adriana was renowned for her ability to bring people together. Her involvement in the political process was a driving force in her life. She has played major roles in electing conservative candidates from the White House to the Court House. She was a Co-Founder of the First Ladies Republican Women's Club. She was also an Election Judge for over 15-years, and a Precinct Chair for many more years. Adriana was vital in helping many conservative candidates, including but not limited to President Bush, Supreme Court Justice Xavier Rodriguez, Martha Metzger, and served as Treasurer for Bill Metzger. She also served her community as a founding member of the Garland Multi-Cultural Commission where she was the architect of the award winning MOSIAC Festival, and was a Board Member of the Mesquite Symphony Guild. Adriana was a loving wife and nurturing mother and is survived by her beloved husband Sal, their adored son Anthony, and beautiful granddaughter Avery Elise. She is also survived by brother Arturo Sanchez, sisters Elva Christiansen, Martha Metzger, and Gloria Webber, sister-in-law Sammie Marie Liberto as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
