

A sister of 17 siblings, and the mother of Joseph D. Thomas who preceded her in death.
Alene is a graduate of Queen City High School. After her graduation, she entered into a nursing career, working for several hospitals in the Dallas area. Alene was the sole owner of Dyson's Day Care for many years. Her last employer was Mr. and Mrs. M. Pogue of Highland Park, Texas. Alene was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Alene married Curtis Dyson, Sr. in 1963. She was a member of Griggs Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. H. D. Webb Sr., and current pastor Rev. E. C. Wilson.
Alene leaves to cherish in memory, her last living sibling Calvin Booth; and her children, James Thomas, (Glenda), Joseph Thomas (deceased), Cynthia Whitfield (James, Sr), Nedra Jackson (Anthony), Curtis Dyson, and James Booth (nephew raised by Alene; grandchildren, Felicia and Rachel Thomas, James Whitfield, Jr. (Brandy), Sophia Whitfield Turner (Forest), and Justin Murrell; great-grandchildren, Jaela, Sariah, Jaden Whitfield, and Justin Murrell, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Special friends, Debra Wilson, Jo Ann Alderson, Katina Booth, and Beverly Jenkins.
She will be missed by all who know and love her.
