Alexandra Elyse "Alli" Barge

While Alli’s 22 years with us was cut far too short, her depth and breadth as a person was remarkable. She was breathtakingly beautiful, incredibly smart, and refreshingly silly. And while always worried about what people would think, her quirkiness and passion for those silly remarks made everyone laugh, sometimes cry, and always understand how unique and special she was.

Alli worked hard at everything she did and felt much more deeply than anyone could ever truly see. No one worked harder on their physical and mental health, journaling each day—many times multiple times per day—praying for each and every one of her friends’ happiness, thanking God for each and every one of her family members’ health and support, and of course praying for her Zambian orphans. Even in her very last journals, she prayed for her future husband and kids, and for the wisdom to understand what she could control (not what others thought or felt about her, but what she felt about herself). If she could only see her true self—her beauty (both her physical and her quirky emotional beauty), her amazing successes (whether on the cheer mat or in the classroom), all of her God given gifts—we would still have her on this earth and in our lives.

As a little girl, Alli had a mischievous streak that kept everyone entertained and on their toes. She might even pop into a handstand in a restaurant booth just to make people laugh. She made people smile without even trying and had a wit that could turn any moment into a good story told for years to come.

As a young girl, she poured her heart into competitive cheer and worked hard to reach every goal she set. That determination carried into everything she did. Once Alli decided on something, you could consider it done.

She loved staying in constant contact with her friends—often through enthusiastic texting that included (in classic Alli fashion) lots and lots of questions. She adored being with people and treasured every moment with those she loved. Alli had a daily routine she documented religiously on her “day in the life” TikToks—complete with her coffee, devotional, gratitude journal, a walk with friends, workouts, and of course, making her bed every single day. Her faith was important to her, and she never missed her devotional.

She loved sushi dates with friends, dancing, and the creepiest scary movies she could find—the more unsettling, the better. As a child, she was fascinated with dolphins. She loved Camp Ozark summers and high school trips to Florida. She was driven, thoughtful, funny, and full of life.

Alli’s presence was radiant and unforgettable. She lived with intention, humor, connection, faith, and a deep desire to improve each and every day. She will be missed beyond words and remembered with endless love.

Alli is survived by her loving mother, Karen, with whom she shared an incredibly special, irreplaceable bond; her older sister and best friend Emily Barge Campbell and her husband, Patrick Campbell, together with Emily and Patrick’s beautiful children, Charlotte Mae Campbell, and her nephew, Hudson Patrick Campbell, who filled Alli’s days with joy; and her devoted brother Matthew Barge, and his fiancée Allie Buchanan.

She is also survived by her stepfather, Richard Krumholz, stepbrothers Grant Krumholz and his wife Simone, Braden Krumholz, and Carson Krumholz, all of whom are so thankful for the last decade they had with Alli. Alli absolutely adored the Krumholz/Barge “Brady Bunch” Karen and Richard built for their family, including their beloved dog, Bailey, who was Alli’s comfort and companion any time she was home.

Alli was lucky to also be surrounded by a large and loving extended family. She is survived by her grandmothers, Kathy Vollmer and Suzanne “Goodie” Barge, her grandfather Bill “Big Daddy” Barge and his wife, Laura Barge; her Aunts, Kerri Scott (Andy), Elizabeth Hibbard (William), Allison Barge Lane (Alan), Rebekah Barge Thomas (Andy), her uncle David Vollmer (Zehra), and her “Cousin Crew” who she absolutely cherished—Jacob, Wesley, and Brody Scott, EmmaMae Vollmer and William Vollmer, Tyler Hibbard, Gracen Hibbard Robertson (Brandon), and Nick Hibbard, Jessica Arnold Pesquera (Dillon), Micah Arnold Ingram (Lance), Robert Arnold, and Charlie and Gigi Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Matthew Barge, and her grandfather, Rudolph “Gran Bud” Vollmer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23rd at Highland Park Presbyterian Church located at 3821 University Blvd., University Park, Texas 75205.
