Alfonsa Garcia passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010, at the age of 74 in Dallas, Texas, due to complications of her liver cirrhosis. Alfonsa was born to Maria de Jesus Vargas and Juan Castro in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico on October 30, 1935.
At the age of 19, Alfonsa met the love of her life, Antonio Garcia, whom she wed a year later and began a family with. When she was 33, Alfonsa and Antonio moved their family to Dallas, Texas, where their family of eight children blossomed.
Alfonsa was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Garcia, and her youngest child, Enrique Garcia. She is survived by her children: Juan Garcia, Teresa Martinez, Maria Torres, Gloria Martinez, Javier Garcia, Eddie Garcia and Josefina Avellaneda. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 1-9 PM, and a rosary service at 7 PM. Further viewing services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 9-2 PM, with funeral services commencing at 2 PM. Mass will be held at the Calvary Hill Funeral Home North Chapel, Dallas, Texas.
