Alfred G. Hahnl passed away April 29, 2011 in Auburn, New York. Born June 14, 1917 in Dallas, Texas, Alfred graduated from Crozier Tech High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, obtaining the rank of 1st Sergent. On July 7, 1940 Alfred married Alice Primrose, in 1942, Diana P., their only child was born. For over 60 years Al was a Mason; Scottish Rite and Shrine. He was 33˚ Mason. He sang with the Hella Temple Shrine Quartet and directed the Scottish Rite Male Choir for 15 years. He retired from Briggs-Weaver. Al moved to New York after the death of his beloved wife of 63 years in order to live with his daughter, Diana. He was also preceded in death by a brother, a sister and two grandchildren. Al is survived by his daughter Diana; granddaughter, Amy Weaver; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, 5-3-2011 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, 5-4-2011 at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2525 N. Buckner Blvd., Dallas, TX 75228. Interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
