Alfred Roy Lintz was born to the late Alfred Henry Lintz and Mattie Lee Lintz on February 18, 1941, in Dallas, Texas as the eighth of ten children. He accepted Christ at a young age as a member of Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church. Alfred traveled through most of his life as the faithful husband and friend
of Tommie Jean Smith, to whom he was married since August 3, 1963. They shared attendance at Lincoln High School which was also where he began his active sports pursuits as a member of the basketball, football and baseball teams, continuing as a basketball player at the esteemed HBCU of Tuskegee Institute then transferred to Prairie View A&M as a Mechanical Engineering student where he joined their basketball team. The loving union of Tommie and Alfred gave birth to two children, Khrhysna Juanita and Alfred Roy Jr.
He retired after more than 40 years with Texas Instruments where he concurrently worked as an adjunct professor of El Centro Community College. He frequently volunteered by tutoring community students in
mathematics and other STEM subjects. He was also a faithful teacher of Bible study classes at his beloved First Christian Methodist Church. Alfred loved the outdoors where he camped, boated, and fished as a
member of the Texas Longhorn Campers, the only African American Chapter of the National Campers and Hikers Association. He played Tennis with the 40-Love Tennis Club and was an avid restorer of automobiles. He also passed time with dear friends playing pinochle.
On Saturday, February 17, 2024 Alfred accepted his call home to Glory. He was preceded in death by his wife, father, mother, and step-father (Frank Morgan); siblings, Mary Lee James, Jack Hensley, Willie B. Richards, Johnette Stumon, Williard Lintz, Gene Lintz, Grady Lintz, Andrew Lintz, W.T. Lintz, Nellie
Mae, and Andrew Jack Lintz.
Alfred leaves to celebrate his life and legacy his children, Khrhysna Juanita McKinney (Franki), Alfred R. Lintz, Jr. (Chrysta) and Katrina Duncan; grandchildren, Desiree McKinney Rupert (Andre Rupert), Alfred R. Lintz III, Hope McKinney, Joshua Lintz, and Eden Lintz; his sister, Patricia Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, former students, and friends.
