

Alfred David Watts, age 90, of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, September 26, 2019. He was born on May 23, 1929 in Lakeview, Texas to parents Dora Lee Usry Watts and Wesley Burnett Watts. Alfred met and married the love of his life, Elizabeth, on March 9, 1951 and they spent 65 wonderful years together.
Alfred was a member of White Rock Church of Christ for over 65 years. He was a devoted servant of the Lord, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Known by his military family as “Catman”, Alfred loyally served 26 years from 1948 to 1974 as a Master Sergeant in the 136th CAM Squadron in the Air National Guard at Hensley field in Dallas, TX. He was skillful at wood working, crafts, telling stories and he loved traveling any chance he could get with family and friends. Alfred's greatest joys in life were his family, his friends, his country and his freedom to love and serve the Lord.
Alfred is survived by his son, David Watts and wife Julie; daughter, Joanna Owens and husband David; grandchildren Robyn Watts, Jordan Watts, Megan Zimmer and husband William, Emily Wright and husband Tom, Wesley Owens and fiancé Emma Esslinger; as well as sister Johnnie Lee Dry. In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth; his brothers John Wesley Watts and Billy Ray Watts; and sister Margie Lou Jones.
