Alma Dean Guynes, age 91, passed away on March 3, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on September 2, 1931 in Mangum, Oklahoma to James Yancie and Pearl Nora Quinn. Alma was raised in Dallas, Texas where she graduated from Crozier Tech in 1951. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Alma's talents lead her to work as a Beautician, then lead her to a career at Texas Instruments, where she worked in several different departments spanning over 20 years. She also sold Avon for over 50 years.
In her spare time, Alma enjoyed watching the Rangers play baseball, traveling, visiting beaches, and going on cruises. She was happiest being with her family and celebrating, and was always ready to party. Alma was a loyal member of Lawson Road Baptist Church, and enjoyed going on outings with the senior group. She was always ready to go. Alma's family and friends will always remember her a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a friend to everyone, an animal lover, and always had a heartfelt smile for everyone.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers, Charlie, Udell, Enious, James and Johnny Ray. Alma is survived by her twin sister, Velma Dale Schlabaugh; children, Debbie Williams and husband Daryl; Jan Guynes; Earl Guynes and wife Mona; and Dow Guynes and Julie Crawford Williamson; grandchildren, Richard Jr, Derrick, Jory, Jennifer, Jared, Tosha, Dow II, Brandon, Jordan and Justin; 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
