Amnon DeNur was born on November 16, 1926, in Palestine, later becoming Israel. He graduated high school in Israel and came to America in 1947 to study medicine. However, he returned to Israel in 1948 to join the War of Independence and served as a pilot in the Israeli Air Force from 1948-1951.
He came back to the US to resume his studies at NYU and received his Masters in Public Administration; married to Gail Levin who preceded him in death.
He married Pauline “Polly” Schaffer and was happily married for 42 years.
Having received a CPA in Florida and Texas, he continued in financial and management functions in various companies.
He is survived by his wife, son Jack Boaz DeNur, and family in Texas, New York, Georgia, and Israel.
Funeral service and burial will take place at 2:00 PM, Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at Sparkman-Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. Shiva, Minyan and reception will follow at Temple Emanu-El.
