Anita Parker, 93, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 21, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Northampton, Massachusetts, on November 27th, 1931, to Ann and John Stoddard. She married Chet Parker on March, 18, 1950, and carried the memory of his love close to her heart after he returned to Heaven on August 22nd, 1977. She is also preceded in death by her beloved son, Steve Parker, granddaughter Shannon Kelley, and great-grandson Cody Oliver, and great-great grandson Chandler Kelley.
For many years, Anita was the warm, steady presence at Bryan Adams High School, a secretary whose kindness and patience touched the lives of hundreds of students. She gave her heart generously to her church family at Shiloh Terrace Baptist, to the choir she loved singing with, to the friends who often gathered together to play cards, and to the small joys that brightened her days: line dancing, tending her plants, traveling with her daughter, and never missing an episode of Dancing with the Stars.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Weaver and her husband, Dan Salter, of Wills Point, Texas, and Linda Boone of Bullard; by her seven grandchildren; countless great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren, each a branch growing from the strong life she lived. She will be missed by many, and remembered with gratitude.
A private service will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
