Ann McBee Buell

Ann McBee Buell was born in Dallas, Texas, on July 30, 1930, to W.D. McBee and Mary Delaney McBee. Ann passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in her beloved home of 57 years, surrounded by her family. Her 94 years of love, kindness, and generosity were a gift to all, and she will remain forever in our hearts.

Ann attended Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School in Dallas, Villa Duchesne in St. Louis, Missouri, for high school, and later graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York.

On April 11, 1953, Ann married the love of her life, Pat Buell. After a few years of traveling during Pat’s Naval Service, they settled in Dallas, where they built a beautiful life together, creating a lasting legacy of love, faith, and family.

Ann and Pat were lifelong members of the St. Rita Catholic Community and deeply believed in the power of prayer. They were committed to their faith and active members of the community, with Ann spending much of her time singing in the St. Rita Choir, something that gave her much joy.

Ann remained active throughout her life, with a deep love for tennis and golf, enjoying countless hours playing with friends at Brook Hollow Golf Club, a place she and Pat cherished. She also looked forward to her weekly bridge games and Sunday afternoon PGA golf tournaments, which kept her competitive spirit alive well into her later years.

Above all, Ann’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter, with an open-door policy that welcomed everyone like family. Friends of her children were always met with kindness, grace, and a warm smile. Ann embodied a spirit of unconditional love and truly never met a stranger—her gracious heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dewitt Patrick Buell; her parents, Bill and Mary McBee; and her brothers, Billy and Mike McBee.

Ann is survived by her children: Pat, Terry & Bridget, Delaney & Sandy, Chris & Brenda, Peter & Beth, Ann & Joe, and Bobby & Sarah. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Sanders & Natalie, Ann Catherine & Corey, Delaney & Haden, Patrick & Emily, Chelsea & Mitch, Shannon & Chip, Brian & Mary Kate, Eliza & Michael, Christopher, Carson & Eliza, Jackson, Blake, Peter, Avery, Barrett, Delaney, Bobby, Thurman, and Rebecca, as well as 16 great-grandchildren. Additionally, Ann is survived by her dearest friend and honorary family member, Rosa, along with Rosa’s daughters, Angelica, Christina, and Maritza.

Ann’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Rosary for Ann will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 6:00 PM at St. Rita Catholic Community, 12521 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75244.

Mass of Christian Burial will occur Friday, April 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3811 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX 75219.
