Ann Marie Higgins Johnson, longtime resident of Irving, Texas, died Dec. 5, 2014 at Baylor Hospital of Irving after a brief illness. She was employed at Plymouth Park Church of Christ and was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughter Kathryn Ann Johnson of Irving; brother James Edward Higgins and wife Susan of Marietta, Georgia; sister Pat Higgins Cockerill and husband Bob of Orange, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Nancy Welborne, Ruth Strube and Scharlene Morris.
Ann was born Nov. 22, 1941 in Kankakee, Illinois, to Helen Voglewede Higgins and Edgar Phillip Higgins. She attended school in Wilmington, Delaware and Beaumont, Texas, as well as the University of Dallas. She enjoyed scrapbooking and games, and was a diligent bookkeeper. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 6:00p.m. that same evening. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, December, 11, 2014 at 12:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Catholic Charities of Dallas.
