Anne Goode Hamilton- devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend- entered the Lord’s presence on Sept. 3, 2019. Anne was born in Dallas on December 1, 1928, to Mary Elizabeth and Raymond Goode.

After graduating from Sunset High School, she attended Baylor University, where she met David Ernest Hamilton and was a member of Alpha Omega sorority, later affiliating with Pi Beta Phi.

Following her years at Baylor, Anne taught second grade at Rosemont Elementary School. She and David married in July of 1953 and a year later moved to England, where David served for several years as a dentist in the US Air Force.

Anne and David returned to make their home in Dallas in 1957 and were married 38 years, until David’s death in 1991. They joined Park Cities Baptist Church in 1957, where they volunteered and made many close, lifelong friends.

Anne also worked for many years as a receptionist for Dallas Federal Savings and Loan and for Newsom Terry & Newsom Law Firm. She was a longtime member of The Mary-Martha Class at PCBC and several civic and cultural organizations, including Junior Three Arts, The Mary K. Craig Class, and The Mentor Club.

Anne’s greatest joy was being with her family and friends. Her family is eternally grateful for her love and devotion to us all. Her sweet smile and fun-loving spirit will be missed by many.

Anne is predeceased by her husband David Ernest Hamilton, son Craig Hamilton, and brother-in-law Robert Langford.

She is survived by her son Brian (Kathleen) Hamilton; her daughter Lisa (Stan) Thiebaud; her sister Kathy Langford; nine grandchildren – Sarah (Matt) Ganier, David (Michelle) Hamilton, Jake Hamilton, Mary Beth Hamilton, Erin (Mike) Jansen, Julie Hamilton, Rachel (Cameron) Phillips, Craig Thiebaud, and Katie Thiebaud; four great-grandchildren (with two more arriving soon); and nephews Mike and Britt Langford.

The family is grateful to the staff at Caruth Haven Court, as well as Barbara Walker, Krystal Carson, and Hannah Foray for their loving care of Anne in recent years.

Miss Goode was my first DISD teacher in 51-52 at Rosemont. I was so awed by her kindness. She was so sweet to all of us. I remember she wore very pretty clothes. Unfortunately, I was sick one day and threw up on her pretty, new suede heels. I was so sorry! The next time I told her I was sick she really acted quickly. Prayers for all the family for such a lovely lady.
