Annette Case Finegan, 86, of Dallas, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by loved-ones in her final days and hours, and was comforted by her strong faith in God.
She was born in Dallas, Texas on June 23, 1938. Annette graduated from Adamson High School where she was named Most Beautiful Senior Girl by her graduating class. Other than a short time residing in New York, Annette spent her life in Dallas, and was proud of being “one of the few natives left.”
She was a long-time member of Highland Park United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women’s Circle. She particularly enjoyed decorating the sanctuary for the Christmas season. Annette was also a member of the Highland Park Browning Club.
Annette and her late husband, Robert “Bob” J. Finegan, shared interests in travel, good food, friends and golf (a sport she took up after marriage). They enjoyed trips to Europe and Hawaii, and spent many summers on South Padre Island, and later, in Colorado Springs at the Garden of the Gods Club, where friends and family often joined them for a retreat from the Texas heat. Bob and Annette were long-time members of Northwood Country Club, celebrating holidays and special events there year-round.
Annette considered herself fortunate to have many family members nearby. Her friend group was also precious to her and included women she’d known, in some cases, since elementary school. She looked forward to the group lunches that replaced the road trips of decades ago.
She is survived by her son, William Rogers and granddaughter Sarah Rogers, who was the light of her life; daughter, Ann Franks and her husband, Robert Franks, and grandchildren, Derek Franks, his wife Ashlea Franks, Austin Franks and his wife Claire Daigle, all of whom she took great pride in; sister, Jan Asaff; brother, James Case and his wife Andi; along with numerous nephews and nieces and their children. ,
A funeral service will be held at the graveside at Sparkman/Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225 on Monday, September 16, 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children or The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
The family would like to extend their gratitude for the comfort and care Annette received from UT Southwest Medical Center, Three Oaks Hospice and Home Care Assistance of Park Cities.
