On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, Annette Williams, mother, grandmother, loving sister and friend, passed away at the age of 75. Ms. Annette Williams was born Annette Harvey, along with her twin sister, Jeanette, on March 12, 1945 in Meridian, Mississippi to Rollie Harvey, Sr. and Geneva Moore Harvey. Annette was the fourth of eight children born to their union. Annette lived a life of service rooted in her love of God beginning in her youth as a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church. It was there that she was baptized at age 9. She participated in the Young People’s Group, choir, and served as the Secretary to the Dean for state conventions. Annette was educated in the Meridian Public School System and graduated from T. J. Harris High School in 1963. Annette then attended Mississippi Valley State. It was during her time in college that she met Roland Williams. They married in 1967 and welcomed a child, Rolanda B. Williams, on June 21, 1968. Rolanda, who was well-loved added to Annette’s joy when on March 12, 2002, she gave birth to her granddaughter, Geneva Annette Sherman. Throughout her life, Annette showed herself to be gifted in the areas of organization and managing projects. Annette put those skills to use as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a church usher, union leader, and family event coordinator. Professionally, Annette began her career with the New York Telephone company and through hard work and diligence worked her way up from Marketing Representative to Senior Consultant and continued to progress until her retirement in 2001 as a Contract Specialist for Avaya Telecommunications. It was at that time Annette left Dallas to become the primary caregiver for her mother in Meridian, MS. That was a job that saw the best of her skills and held a special place in her heart for 16 years. Annette is survived by her daughter, Rolanda, granddaughter, Geneva, sisters, Jeanette (William), Jacqueline (Willie), Cheryl (Joe), and Yolanda (Kenneth), brothers, Rollie (Marsha), Robert (Carol), and Rodney (Elaine), a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. All of whom will lovingly remember how much she enjoyed BidWiz, music, Perry Mason, ID TV and caring for and laughing with her loved ones.

Praise God for our family (Powell's) having had an almost life time friendship with Annette and her family growing up in Meridian, MS. We stayed in touch over the years. She continued to check up on our mom and dad when she returned home to care for her own mom for which we will be eternally grateful for. With love and condolences to the family. Rosa L. Powell-Brown

Girl I will miss you. May you take your rest, you deserve it. I will never forget the foolish things we did as young people and as young adults. God was with us and when you see Him please thank Him for taking care of both of us. I will check on Rolanda, Geneva and Jeanette every once and a while. Bye see you later

On behalf of my mother, Mary Yarbrough we extend to the family our condolences and prayers. Mother always stayed with or visited and cooked at Annette's when she came to Meridian. Slowly mother's cousins comrades are going home, but the memories will remain forever. I shared two cruises with Annette and my mother. I also uploaded a picture of the last cruise we did together. I promised to send her a copy and never did. So Annette, here's to the memories and know You will never be forgotten. Mother sends her love to Jeanette, Rolandra, Genevieve and the entire family. God Bless and may he continue to keep you in his perfect peace.

I want to thank the late Sam Randolph and Roland Williams for introducing you to me. We had some wonderful times together. The times we all piled in Sam's 1969 mustang going to the beach in far rockaway and almost passing out because it was so hot in the car.
I will never forget the good talks we had that helped make the right decisions in my life. Thank you for your wisdow. Love you forever Your Buddy Dorothy

I remember when your mom came to Dallas and spent the weekend with me, that's when the bond began. We had this thing about our granddaughters, she only had one, I had four. We always joked about me leaving her granddaughter alone. If I didn't she was going to take mine. I have so many wonderful memories of your mom, our family is so blessed that we were a part of her life. Ro and GG we love you from the bottom of our hearts. I will miss your mom, for she was a wonderful woman, mother and grandmother. Ro I will never leave you and GG. I love you all so much. Missy
