Anthony Joseph Daboub

Anthony Joseph Daboub, 82, of Dallas, passed away on June 2, 2019 in Dallas, Tx. Anthony was born in El Salvador to Anthony Daboub and Inez Hirezi Daboub on November 3, 1936. He was the eldest of 5 boys and moved to the United States at the age of 8. He attended Jesuit High School in Dallas, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from St. Louis University. He went on to pursue graduate studies at SLU, earning a Master's Degree in Classical Literature and a PHD in Philosophy. During this time he was a Fulbright Scholar and studied in Europe for 2 years. His passion for learning continued throughout his life and eventually earned him an MBA from The University of Dallas, and a PHD in Business Management from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Anthony enjoyed a long and successful career as a college professor, teaching at the University of Dallas, the University of Washington, the University of Arizona, Louisiana State University, West Texas State University, the University of Maryland, the University of Texas at Arlington, and the University of Texas at Brownsville, from which he retired. Over the course of his academic studies and teaching career he spent 8 years living in Europe, 9 years in Latin America, and 1 year in the Middle East. As a result, he spoke seven languages and was comfortable with people from many cultures and walks of life.

Anthony was a kind hearted and generous soul, who had a smile for everyone he met and thus was loved by many. But he was particularly loved by his large family, who he always made time for, especially at holidays and special occasions.

Anthony is survived by his brothers, Charles Daboub, Henry Daboub, and Art Daboub, his nieces and nephews, Charlie Daboub, Jr., Henry Daboub II, Joel Daboub, Shelley Daboub Hyde, Jocelyn Dabeau, Micah Daboub, Brent Daboub, Alex Daboub, Keith Daboub, Danielle Daboub Shermer, and Nicole Daboub, as well as multiple great-nieces and great-nephews. Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Daboub and Inez Hirezi Daboub and his brother Mario Daboub.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Hill Cemetery in the North Chapel, located in Main Mausoleum. Inurnment will follow in cemetery. Memorials to honor Anthony may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
