Anvar, or Andy as his friends knew him, was born in Iran on August 23, 1947, and died on August 17, 2022, in Plano Texas at 74 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mamet and Fenya Habibyan and sister-in-law Farrah Habibyan.
Anvar first moved to the United States in 1978. Together with his parents, his sister lila, brother Fred and brother-in-law Massoud, they made a home in Minnesota and opened a family restaurant in downtown St. Cloud. Anvar worked in his family’s restaurant and that is where he met Sherry, whom he married in 1983. They decided to move to Texas where they raised three children: Jason, Matthew and Ashley.
Anvar loved his family more than anything. Nothing made him happier than being together with them. He was incredibly selfless and would be there for anyone in a heartbeat. At family gatherings he always wanted to make everyone laugh, so everyone would be happy and enjoy the time they were getting to spend with each other.
Anvar loved to keep himself busy. He loved to go shopping, enjoyed rearranging his furniture, always had some kind of project going, and would go out to happy hour with friends who he considered family on Friday evenings.
His home was filled with pictures of his children, his nephews and their families, his siblings and several items from Iran or places he’d visited.
Anvar leaves behind a family who loved him dearly: Sherry, the love of his life; his children Jason Wolbeck Matthew Habibyan; Ashley Habibyan and her fiancé Blake Johnson; his sister Lila Daryani and her husband Massoud, who was his best friend, and their children Sherwin and David Daryani and their wives Amy and Valeria and children Connor and Owen; and his brother Fred Habibyan and his sons Michael and Brian.
Anyone who crossed paths with Anvar was guaranteed to laugh and knew they had a friend in him forever. Anyone who knew him is a better person because of it.
Even though he is no longer with us his family can still feel his love, hear his laugh and plan to honor his life by remembering to lead each day with a giving heart, the way he did.
A visitation for Andy will be held Friday, August 26, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225 ,followed by a service in the Bill Sparkman Memorial Chapel at 2:00 PM.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Sparkman-Hillcrest.com for the Habibyan family.
