Argusta Perry affectionately known as “Gusta” was born June 21, 1943, to the parentage of the late Thurman Perry and Lillian Hailey- Smith. The only son surrounded by all sisters he was the protector to all siblings both young and old. He graduated from Honey Grove High School.
Later in life he married Laura Perry and to this union three daughters were born, Cassandra Jackson, Marsha Perry and Melinda Lee and one son, Ronnie. Along with his own children he helped to raise David Allen-Hillbilly. He was a member of Ewing Avenue Baptist Church. Argusta built homes and was a master Masonry.
On Friday, December 29, 2023, Argusta “Gusta” Perry, entered into his eternal home of Glory. He was welcome by his wife, Laura Perry; son, Ronnie Perry; grandmother, Jessie Mae Perry; sisters,
Ruthie Mae Aubrey and Doris Malone; niece, Vicki Jones; nephew, Kenneth Aubrey and uncles, Willie Joe and Harvey Pittman.
He leaves to cherish his memories, daughters, Cassandra Jackson (Jimmy Bishop),Marsha Perry(Robert Williams, Jr.) and Melinda Lee (Stanley Lee); grandsons, Rene Perry (Amanda Perry) and Joseph Hawkins (Brianna Hawkins); granddaughters, Jennifer Perry, Brittany Farris and Ashley Lee; great grandchildren, Nina Guerrero, Mikail Perry, Mikhi Perry, Genesis Farris and Zion Farris; sisters, Mozelle Crowley, Martha Davis, Ruby Alford (Rev. Ben Alford) and Wilma Aubrey (L.B Aubrey); 62 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
