He was born in Dallas on October 20, 1982, to Cindy and Armond Schwartz Jr. Survivors include his parents, Robyn and Michael Siegel, Andrew and Gloria Schwartz, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as dear friends and supporters through his sobriety - Morris Amiri, Gregg Champion, and Dan Stevenson. He was preceded in death by grandparents Jean and Armond Schwartz and Lucy and Ralph Cohen.
He graduated Greenhill School in Dallas in 2001 where he received the highest award for community service. That year, Armond was also awarded the Volunteer Center of Dallas County Volunteer of the Year award. The National Freedom Foundation granted him their highest merit award. He attended Duke University and graduated with honors from University of Southern California.
His fun-loving nature was infectious. People didn’t just like him, they loved him. He adored being outside sharing his passions for hunting, fishing, and skiing with friends and family.
Armond’s life was focused on giving to others. His legacy is Spokes for Folks, the non-profit organization he founded at age 17 to provide bicycles for children. What began as a project in Armond’s garage over winter break has grown into an organization which has provided over 5,000 bicycles to underserved individuals. Armond was a community builder. Every year his foundation brings together hundreds of volunteers for a common cause.
His infectious, funny, sweet personality touched people’s lives every day. Armond thrived on challenges, and with earnestness and grit, encouraged those whose lives he touched to reach their goals - especially when they wanted to give up. He recognized with empathy those who most needed his support and encouragement. Armond lived his life with honor and integrity. Our lives will be forever marked by his steadfastness, love, and light.
