

Arthur Friedman, 80, of Plano, TX passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at his residence. He will always be remembered as a loving, husband, father, brother, cousin and friend to all that knew and loved him. He never met a stranger and will be missed.
He was born in Dallas, Texas on January 7, 1933 to Herman and Hortense Sherer Friedman. He graduated from the University of Texas and went on to obtain a Pharmacy degree of which he practiced for 50 years up until his death. He was the proud owner of Friedman’s Drug Store in South Dallas, on the corner of Grand and Harwood Ave for many years, home of the famous “Chocolate Soda”. The store later relocated to Martin Luther King Blvd. Arthur was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan and loved his family and two dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Joyce Friedman of Plano, TX; a son David Michael Friedman of Austin, TX; a daughter, Michelle Rose Friedman of Plano, TX; one sister Natalie Friedman of Dallas, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Friedman in 2011.
A Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas.
