He was born May 18, 1925 in San Antonio, TX, the son of Augustine Solis and Maria Solis. Augustine served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II in 1943. He had just turned 18 in May of 1943.

Augustine was a highly decorated WWII veteran and was presented with the Bronze Star Medal award on Friday, November 15, 2013. He waited 67 years to be presented with award.
After the war, he married the love of his life, Emma Puente Solis and they settled in San Antonio, TX and had 7 children. They celebrated 70 years of marriage.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Emma Solis and his son Richard Solis. Brothers Rudolph, Ruben & Roy. Sisters, Susie Guerra, Isabel Rodarte, Anita Villarreal, Mary Lopez, Delia Rodriguez and Olivia Rodriguez; Son in law Louis Lopez.
Survived by his children; John & Joy Solis, Viola Lopez, Susie Solis, Thomas Solis, Debra & Hector Sanchez and Elizabeth Solis. 7 Grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Monday, July 26th @ 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Rosary to follow from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
Service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, July 27th @ 2:00 pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home & Memorial Park located at 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX. Interment to follow at the Memorial Park.
