

Aurora “Dora” Vasquez went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 13, 2010. She was born on October 29, 1928 in Uvalde, Texas to Elias and Maria Reyes. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Manuel; by her parents Maria and Elias Reyes; and her sister, Refugia “Ruby” Zarate. She is survived by her daughters; Martha Vasquez, Yolanda Smith Vasquez, and her son, Dan Vasquez and his wife Laura. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristina Metarelis and her husband Steve, Elisa Radominski, David Smith and his wife, Jessica, Andrew Vasquez, Josh Smith, and Maggie Vasquez and great grandchildren, Jade Mariee Smith, Ethan Pierce Smith, and Emmaleigh Jane Vasquez. Aurora was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love of cooking, laughter, and life will be remembered, as well as her unending love and devotion for her family. Her will and strength amazed all who knew her as she fought a courageous battle and left to be with our Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in the St. Michael’s Chapel at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal church, at 8011 Douglas Ave. in Dallas, Texas, officiated by Amy Meaux and Jemonde Taylor. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Kidney Foundation.
