Ava Gwenette Hough

Ava was born in Charleston, Missouri on December 24, 1953.

She graduated from Charleston High School in 1973 then went on to attend Park University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Psychology.

Ava had a passion for prayer, sewing, watching NCIS and Star Trek.

She is survived by her loving children, Nikita Edwards, Lurita Hough, and Don Hough Jr.; grandchildren, Tirzah Jackson, Khalil Jackson, Josiah Jackson, Liana Forbes, Amaya Vines, Maliyah Hough, and Laila Hough; siblings, Margaret Hassel, Donnie Straughter (Gloria), Marshall Straughter (Denise), and Georgia Riggins.

Ava is predeceased by siblings, Clara Johnson, Beverly Jones, Wilma Straughter, Herman Straughter, Sherwood Straughter, Ruth Ann Sanford, and Robert Lee Straughter.

A celebration of life for Ava will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
