Barbara Ann Phillips

Barbara Ann Phillips, of Mesquite, Texas, went to be with our Lord, on July 24, 2020. Barbara was raised in Dallas, TX by Lorene and Henry Martin who preceded her in death. She graduated from Adamson High School in 1951.

Barbara is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Donald Phillips and her daughter, Cathi Joslin. Barbara is survived by her brother, Don Martin (Linda), her sister-in-law Joann Short, her daughters, Susan Hersch (Jim) and Lorene Boyd (Cliff), her step-sons, Donald Phillips Jr. (Cindy) and John Phillips, her grandchildren, Natalie Maxfield (Shawn), Devon Hersch, Luke Boyd, and Margo Unruh (Dayton), and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren from her large blended family.

Early in Barbara's career she owned and operated the Mademoiselle Beauty Salon in Casa View. She then went to work as a bookkeeper for Western Auto until her retirement. In retirement, she worked as the secretary for New Heights Baptist Church, of which Barbara and her husband, Donald, were devoted members for many years.

Barbara was a loving, uplifting, and cheerful person and always had a big smile and compliment for everyone she encountered. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
