Barbara M. Tarpley

Barbara M Tarpley, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2016, in Garland, Texas. Barbara is survived by her husband Bloyce E. Tarpley, of Garland, Texas; son, Garold W. Tarpley and son, L. Gene Tarpley. Sisters; Nancy Baxendale, Judy McCurry & Brother David Snider. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Janet L. Dixon, her sister Beverly Snider, father Eugene L. Snider and mother Ruby E. Snider. Barbara was born on March 13, 1931 in Enid, Oklahoma, to parents Eugene L. and Ruby E. Snider. Barbara was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She married the love of her life, Bloyce E. Tarpley January 22, 1950 in Lawton, Oklahoma. The couple had three children together Garold (Gary), Janet, and Larry (Gene), which gave them seven grandchildren: Brian W. Tarpley, Kimberley A. Tarpley, Darci E. Clift, Michael C. Jaszkowiak, Cari A. Schroeder, Stacy E. Tarpley, Melissa K. Sumpter, and ten great-grandchildren. Barbara was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Garland. She loved and enjoyed the company of all her family. Barbara enjoyed going on evening walks, watching University of Oklahoma football, and all the places she and her husband Bloyce traveled during their sixty-six years of marriage. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on June 4, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church of Garland, 930 West Avenue B, Garland, TX 75040, with a reception following. Pastor Paul Burns will officiate the services. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Barbara M. Tarpley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to First Presbyterian Church of Garland.
