She grew up in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 1973. She attended Texas Tech before joining United Airlines because Texas was too small for her.
After a snow storm on her birthday in Chicago, she headed back to Texas and joined Southwest Airlines in December 1976. She loved Southwest and her colleagues dearly.
When she passed away Belinda ranked 26 in a flight attendant corp of 16000 and was in her 43rd year of flying.

Sissy had a zest for life with a fierce determination to succeed. She loved watching her children in their various activities and loved bonding with their friends. She was the cool mom.
Belinda took her family (girls only) on various trips. Afterwards she’d swear that she would never do it again. She was a beautiful, loving, kind, funny, dedicated, opinionated and loyal person. Her life was too short.
Belinda strongly requested no service or visitation.
Thank you to all her family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances for bringing joy, laughter and love to her life.
Her children, family, and friends will dearly miss her. We will hold her in our hearts forever. Belinda has taken her last flight. Fasten your seatbelts.
