Belle Seals, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed peacefully while surrounded by family on March 21, 2022. Belle was born in Poland and immigrated after the Holocaust to the United States.
Belle had a heart of gold. She would tell you that her life began with the birth of her son, Richard, and her immigration to the United States after the war. Upon arriving in Dallas, she quickly began assimilating and working with the Jewish Federation to become a true American citizen. After the birth of her daughter, Laura, she became immersed in Jewish life in the Dallas area. She was a member of Shearith Israel, often attending services and assisting the temple in any way possible. In addition, for nearly seven decades, she was a fixture at the Jewish Community Center either in the gym, serving lunches to seniors, knitting with the Yentas, or volunteering. Her passion for mitzvahs and tzedakah was always present. She enjoyed traveling to Canada to spend time with her older brothers and their families as well as spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Belle is preceded in death by her two older brothers, Simon and Harry, as well as her son, Richard. Belle is survived by her daughter Laura (Robert) Hadd, her grandchildren Jennifer (Greg) Baden, Shawn (Sara) Hadd, Nikki Seals and her newly discovered granddaughter Sylvia Hendricks. She also survived by great grandchildren: Zoe, Paige, Atticus, Wren, and Ryan as well as numerous nieces and their families.
A graveside service for Belle was held Wednesday, March 23, 2022, 10:00 am, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225.
