Ben Josin (Zaydie), 91, passed away on March 15, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ozorkow, Poland, Ben, who survived the concentration camps, was the lone survivor of his entire family. He met his beloved wife of sixty-five years, Emma, in a concentration camp, and they married in Bomberg, Germany before immigrating to Omaha, Nebraska. Ben and Emma raised their family and built a successful family-owned wholesale fabric business. In 1990, Ben and Emma retired to Aventura, Florida and then moved to Dallas in 2010 to be near family. Members of Beth Israel Synagogue in Omaha and Turnberry Jewish Center in Aventura, Ben was active in Jewish and Pro-Israel causes. In 1985, Ben was honored in Omaha, Nebraska by the State of Israel Bonds. The award recognized his extraordinary and heroic efforts to help build a new life for his family and the Jewish people. Ben lived every day to the fullest: always full of life, laughter, and love. No one was a stranger to Ben. Regardless of the amount of time any one person may have spent with him, his special sense of humor and warm heart made an everlasting impression. Ben is survived by his wife Emma, son and daughter-in-law Harvey and Cindy Josin, daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Kenny Goldberg, and grandchildren Richard Goldberg, Lindsay and Corey Freedman, Jenny Goldberg, and Grace Josin. Graveside services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at The Mount Zion Section of Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rabbi Howard Wolk officiating. The family will observe Shiva at the Goldberg residence, 4 Robledo Drive, Dallas 75230 Thursday, March 17th and Monday, March 21st at 7:15 p.m. both nights.
