Ben "Bj" J. Smith

He was a Master Plumber and had served a term in the US Navy. BJ was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Marietta.

He is survived by his son Paul Smith and his wife Debbie of Marietta; his granddaughters, Stacey Michelle Smith of Garland, TX and Danielle Marie Smith of Marietta; a great-grandson, Benjamin Tiberius Smith of Garland, Texas, and his brother and sister-in-law Jackie and Betty Smith of Mesquite Texas. BJ is also survived by his faithful and loving companion, June Love. In addition, there are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Smith; his parents William John (Bill) Smith and Julia Ann (Palmer) Smith; his brothers and sisters Norma (Sister) Loraine McDonald, William (Bubba) Edward Smith, Francis (Baby) Louise White, Gordon Ray (Pete) Smith.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 1, 2021 10:00AM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Marietta with Dr. Chas Carlisle officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM. to 10:00 AM at the church, prior to the funeral. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM also on Tuesday June 1, 2021 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75228.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Center.
