Betty Rembert Brown, 88, entered into rest on December 31, 2018 peacefully at home. She was born November 11, 1930 in Dallas, Texas as Betty Joan Rembert to Clyde and Gladys Rembert. Betty attended Highland Park High School and then attended New York Finishing School. She had a successful career as owner and manager of The Scoreboard, a popular restaurant and also worked with The Dallas Nurses Registry. Betty was an avid bridge player, loved cooking, wine tasting, traveling, shopping and bowling. She bowled several perfect games and held the record at Heart Bowl. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clyde Rembert and Charles Rembert; children, Sherry Ruthford Milam, David Carter Milam and Christopher Rembert Milam. She is survived by her loving children, Deborah Milam, Charles C. Milam and Gregory Lowell Brown and wife Eva; grandchildren, David Ruthford, Jordan Milam, Noah Brown and Austin Gowler and extended family, Rosemary Wright, James Wright and Norma Rittlemeyer. Words cannot express the resilient woman Betty was, she was loved and admired by everyone who knew her. She left an everlasting impression on everyone whom she met. Betty was a woman who was strong in her faith in God. She is a woman that will truly be missed and her love and spirit will live on in every one of her loved ones. Family will welcome visitors from 1-4pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Services will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 2:00pm with interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
