Betty Jean Patterson

Betty Jean Patterson (Mimi), age 88, of Plano, Texas passed away Tuesday evening November 3, 2020 in Richardson, Texas. Betty, who was the daughter of Dugan G. Prewitt and Myrtie Mazel (Coats) Prewitt, was born on the 23rd of January 1932 in Dallas, Texas. She was a graduate of Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas where she met Donald Ray Patterson whom she married on August 17th of 1949.

Betty assisted her parents in the Family-Owned Cleaners for many years. Once her children were older, she enjoyed her job at Neiman-Marcus in the Zodiac Room and the Godiva Chocolate Boutique until retirement. She loved everything about children and devoted her life to caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mimi had a true heart of gold! She was selfless as she always put other’s needs before her own. She will be missed most for her quick wit and great sense of humor.

She is survived by her daughter, Susie Emerson (Mike), Richardson, Texas. Son, Eddie Patterson (Debbie), Plano, Texas and her niece, Sharla Musto (Rocky), McKinney, Texas. Survivors also include her grandchildren, Kealey Sorensen, Aaron Emerson, Casey Emerson, Cher Watson, Brad Patterson, Hayley Musto, Matthew Lynch and Mandy Haecker. Mimi is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, Dylan Sorensen, Carsyn Sorensen, Brayden Sorensen, Porter Emerson, Davis Emerson, Harris Emerson, Caroline Emerson, Stephanie Watson, Lexie Watson, Jaxon Patterson, Caroline Haecker and James Haecker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Patterson, her parents, Dugan and Myrtie Prewitt, her sister, Mary Sue Lynch and nephew Steve Lynch.
