Born on September 19, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, Beverly was the beloved daughter of B.J. and Mollie Kutac. She was the beloved sister of Dorothy, Margaret, Elizabeth, Virginia, and William (Bill). She grew up with a strong sense of family and faith — values that would define her throughout her life.
Beverly married Stuart G. Johnston, Jr. at the age of 18, with whom she shared a long and loving marriage filled with laughter, mutual respect, and deep devotion. Together they raised seven sons: Stuart, Paul, Stanley, Mark, Morgan, Patrick, and Michael. She was a constant supporter of her boys, rarely missing a baseball game or opportunity to cheer them on, both on and off the field.
A lifelong sports fan, Beverly especially enjoyed spending time with Stuart watching baseball. Whether at the ballpark or on television, it was one of the many joys they shared together. After Stuart’s passing, Beverly continued to carry those traditions close to her heart.
A long-time and faithful member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Beverly’s deep faith was the foundation of her life, and she modeled to her family the values of kindness and humility.
Beverly was the proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren. She was the great grandmother to 24. Her family was her greatest pride. Her grandchildren have decades of memories of visiting her home for afternoons of swimming and watching their dads play basketball.
Beverly leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and faith. Her family and friends will remember her for her resilient spirit, and the countless ways she made their lives richer. Though her absence leaves a deep void, her influence and memory will live on for generations to come.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Beverly’s life will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church on April 30th at 11am. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and honor her remarkable life.
