Beverly Hosier-Baxter Fridge Muessig, 73, of Forney Texas Passed away on April 15, 2018. Born on July 4, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri to John and Erma Baxter. She was a retired Pediatric RN, and she enjoyed serving at Children’s Health, Dallas. Beverly attended Liberty High School in Liberty Missouri. After graduation, she wore many hats: Medical Assistant, Realtor/Broker, and a nurse. Beverly was most proud, however, of her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved visits and family dinners. In October 2016, she was diagnosed with AML (Leukemia). She often said what a humbling experience her illness was. Beverly was overwhelmed and grateful by the outpouring of prayers and support she received during her illness. She often bragged to others about the excellent care she received from Dr. V and her caregivers at UT Southwestern. Beverly was discharged home the week of Thanksgiving and insisted that Thanksgiving and Christmas would be celebrated at her home, although she lacked the strength needed to do all the cooking. Her family stepped in, and her wish was granted. She loved decorating for Christmas, but learned that she would also need to step down and let others help. She had the grandchildren and their friends wear her blue hospital socks, as they danced around and decorated the tree. She handled her illness like she handled other difficult situations, with determination and belief that God knew what he was doing, and would get her through it. She was often heard saying, “It is what it is”. Beverly loved digging in the dirt, dancing, and travel, and although she never learned to swim, she loved the water, and occasionally, wetting a hook. She never met a stranger, and loved her many friends. They appreciated her quick wit and positive attitude; always seeing the glass half full. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents: John and Erma Baxter, and Jesse Hosier. Brothers: Ronald Baxter and Robert Hosier. She is survived by her husband Ken. Children: Brian Crouse (Liberty, MO), Pamela Crouse (Red Oak, TX). Step-Children: Christina Montgomery (Larry), and Natalie Muessig. Brothers: John Baxter Jr. (Liberty, MO), Gary Hosier and Rex Hosier (Atchinson, KS). Sisters: Cheryl Baxter (Dallas, TX), Sharon Hosier (Wichita, KS). Grandchildren: Colton Crouse, Tayler Still (Sala), Bailey Crouse (Carson Boatman), and Grace Henry. Caitlin and Nick Montgomery, and Christian Windham. Great-grandchildren: Maelie, Marlo Still, and Casen Boatman.
A Memorial Service for Beverly will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 12pm in the Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will also be held on Friday, May 4th at 10:30AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Missouri. (6415 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119)
