Beverly June Reed, born February 17, 1939, in Washington D.C. to parents Freeman Eicher Frank and Edna Mae Nairn, passed away from natural causes on Friday, March 3, 2021, in Mesquite, Texas, at the age of 82.
A child piano prodigy, Beverly played in numerous recitals and received several awards before later becoming a professional bowler in her teens. After high school, Beverly graduated cosmetology school and worked at some of the finest salons. In 1962, she married Gary Edward Thompson and had two sons: Troy Matthew Thompson in September 1962, and Todd Andrew Thompson in June 1967. She was actively involved with the community and volunteered with local schools.
Beverly re-married in 1976 to Gregory Marshall Reed and relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico before finally settling in Mesquite, Texas. She was passionate about the arts, different cultures, science, education, and anything else that piqued her curiosity. She often would say, “I may not know a lot about one thing, but I know a little bit about a lot of things”.
Beverly is survived by her youngest son, Todd Thompson, of Mesquite, Texas, two nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, older sister, first born son, and second husband.
A private burial service will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, September 13, 2021.
