
Beverly Toney Swain passed away peacefully September 18, 2026. She was born in Dallas on May 7, 1932, to Gladys Southwood Toney and Noel Toney. Beverly graduated as the valedictorian from Hillcrest High School where she was a champion debater. She then attended University of Texas where she met her husband Jack, graduating with a degree in communications. While at the University of Texas she enjoyed hosting a weekly call-in radio show to discuss and debate current events at the Radio House.
Beverly and Jack were married in 1956 and settled in Dallas where they spent 59 years together until his death in 2015. She is survived by her 4 children; Jack R. Swain, III, Cathy Lucas (John), Ann Swain (Stacy), Carol Swain, grandson, Whit Moses, Jr., niece, Beth Sabo Huddleston, and nephew, Lyle Sabo.
Beverly was an active member of the Dallas Women’s Club, Dallas Garden Club, Founders Garden Club, Junior League of Dallas, Dallas Shakespeare Club, Dallas Country Club and the Church of the Incarnation In addition, at one time, she was President of Dallas Shakespeare Club, President of Altar Guild at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and served as a board member of the Founders Garden Club. Each year she eagerly looked forward to summering in La Jolla California. While there she attended horse races at Del Mar Racetrack where she had an uncanny ability to pick winners.
In her final years, she met her health issues with good humor and courage. We want to thank her many caregivers that loved and cared for her.
