Bill Adair was born Dec. 16, 1926 in Winnsboro, TX, the son of Clyde and Stella Adair and died Sept. 12, 2015. He served in the Army two years, the last year with Paratroopers in the 11th Airborne Reconnaissance Platoon during the Army of Occupation in Japan. Returning from service, Bill was employed by General Electric Co. in Dallas where he worked for 45 years. When his sons were growing up, he served as Scout Master of Troop 638 for a number of years and was given the Silver Beaver Award. At Bethany Christian Church in Lakewood, where he’s been a member for 57 years, he had served as Deacon, Elder and Chairman of the Board. He married Wanda Moffitt on May 15, 1948 and she survives, as do his sons Mark Adair and Douglas Adair. Visitation will be at Grove Hill Funeral Home from 2-3PM on Tuesday, Sept. 15 with graveside services to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park, with Dr. David Halleen presiding.
