Billie Harkins, 86, widow of Harold D. Harkins, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Born in Mesquite, Texas on May 13, 1928, she was the daughter of Bill and Lillian Drexel. Billie and her husband of 60 years made their home in Dallas and later in Denton. She worked at Atlantic Richfield Oil Company for 20 years before retiring in 1986. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, her grandchildren, and just being with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold D Harkins, and two sisters Juanita Littlepage and Faye Hunter. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Martha Harkins of Plano; a daughter and son-in-law, Carlita and Jim Myers of Aiken, SC; three granddaughters, Heather Anderson and her husband Jared Anderson, Brooke Harkins, and Cathy Harkins; two great-grandchildren, Parker Anderson and Avery Anderson. She is also survived by a sister, Margie Tippie, and a brother, Walter Drexel and numerous nieces and nephews.
