The world lost a hero today. Billy may not have fought in any wars, but he fought a hard battle. He didn't lose the battle, but accepted his promotion to heaven. While we all miss him dearly, we know he is at peace and no longer in pain. Billy was known by many names and titles. He was Junior to his family, dad to his kids, and PawPaw to his grandkids. To me, he was husband, friend, and honey. He was also known as an auto technician to coworkers and a "boat person" to the guys in the boat club. He had a lot of friends and never met a stranger. Early on, Billy worked for his dad. He figured out office work was not for him and he started working on cars so he could be outside. He worked at Huffines Chevrolet in Plano for many years as an auto technician. He really loved old cars. He could see a fender or part of a car in a movie and tell you what kind of car it was. He liked watching car shows on TV and going to car shows, too. As a hobby, Billy raced remote control boats. He would spend time working on his boats and getting them ready for races. He traveled all over for boat races staying in cheap hotels or in a trailer with his friend. He raced under all conditions – heat, rain, cold, and even snow. He loved to travel. Our first trip together was to Cancun to relax on the beach. We went to Vegas several times, including our honeymoon. In Vegas, he liked playing black jack, shooting craps, and seeing shows. But our favorite type of travel was cruising. We went to Cozumel, the Bahamas, Key West, Belize, and Roatan, but our last and favorite trip was to Alaska. Billy will be missed by his family and friends. He was a great man, husband, father, son, brother and friend.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Melinda Hale and one brother-in-law, Gary Long. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Scivally Hale; children, Rachel Hale Venn and husband, Jason, Mallory Hale, and Matthew Hale; step-son, Alan Scivally and wife, Jennifer; father, Billy Jack Hale, Sr., sisters, Belinda Johnson and husband, Wesley, Deborah Long; grandchildren, Caden, Grayson, Indigo, AJ, and Elijah; many nieces, nephews, extended family and his dog, Abby. Vistiation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 12 Noon, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6000 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75232. Interment to follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Tammy, you know the first time I met Billy and we (Car Guys) hit it off right off the bat. I really liked him right off. Car guys are kinda like that you know. The first thing I felt when I met Billy though wasn't just his love for classics and hot rods, but his devoted Love for the Lord, Fanily, and willingness to allow this old Pastor to pray for him. God said to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord Tammy and Family, and I can tell you from my heart, "Rest Assured, Billy is Resting in the Arms of Jesus as we speak." Blessings of comfort and peace to you Tammy, and all those who love Billy. And remember: Billy's not gone, he's simply stepped into Heaven with Jesus, waiting for us to come and live there as well. Big Love n Huggs, Pastor Bill "MOE" Moore
