

The Lord called Bill Kilgore home on January 1st, 2020, after a long and wonderful life. Bill was born on December 12,1928, in Nashville, Tennessee, to a devoted mother, Willie T Jackson. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1951 with an engineering degree. Immediately after graduation, he was employed as an Avionics Engineer at Vought Corporation, where he worked until his retirement in 1991. At Vought, Bill was proud to be the lead design engineer of the flight testing of the submarine launched cruise missile and the US Scout satellite rocket currently housed at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sidney Ann. Those left to cherish his memory are his son Mark Kilgore, his daughter MarySeay Kilgore, grandchildren Ashley and Carson Kilgore, his stepdaughter Mary Margaret Hickey and husband Billy, grandchildren Will, Lauren, Ben and Laura Hickey, Ann Marie and Blake Waltrip, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Paula Collins, niece Shannon Rowell and husband Jim, children Caroline, Sidney Margaret and Abigail Rowell. His greatest joy was this family the Lord gave him. He was a longtime member of Believers Chapel Bible Church. He died knowing he was loved and assured of his salvation. How thankful and grateful to God we are for the years we had with him! A memorial service will be held at Believers Chapel, 6420 Churchill Way, on Monday, January 6, at 11:00 am.
