

28, 1956, in Brenham, Texas to Martin Wise and Deloris Wilson Wise. He attended public
school in Somerville, TX where he held several Class titles such as Freshman Class Favorite
and Athletic Achievements including Bi-District Champs in football. He joined Mount
Calvary Baptist Church in Somerville, TX church at an early age where he enjoyed
attending youth conferences and with singing in the youth choir.
Billy graduated from Somerville High School in May 1974 and enlisted in the United States
Air Force a few months later in July. After completion of basic training at Lackland Air Force
Base in San Antonio, Texas, his military assignments included Seymour Johnson Air Force
Base, North Carolina, Kunsan Air Base, South Korea, and Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.
On March 15, 1975, Billy married Helen Johnson, his high school sweetheart. Their union
of 46 years was blessed with two daughters, Tiffany and Jessica, and one granddaughter,
Nya.
In June 1978, Billy decided that he had served his country proudly and it was time to do
something else. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force and he
joined the United States Air Force Reserves the very next day. He was assigned to
Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas and was later activated in support of Operations
Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was recalled again to active duty in October 2001
where he served 1 year and 3 months at Ramstein Air Base, Germany and Masirah Island
Air Base, Oman holding the final title of Senior Master Sergeant (E8). As a civilian, Billy
worked for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers as a Federal Park Ranger beginning May of
1980 and he retired June 3, 2011.
Billy joined Toliver Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Jimmy D. Hunter,
Pastor, and later became a member on the Usher Board where he enjoyed training the
youth Ushers; and he also lent his hand in assisting with the Marriage Ministry.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Martin Wise and Deloris Wilson Wise, along
with one sister, Alice Marie Wise and one brother, Marvin Darnell Wise Sr.
He leaves to cherish memory, Helen, his loving and devoted wife of 46 years; his three
daughters; Aundrea Midkiff of Ft. Worth, TX, Tiffany Wise of Ft. Worth, TX, Jessica Wise of
Richardson, TX; one granddaughter, Nya Wise of Ft. Worth, TX; one grand puppy, Ace Wise
of Richardson, TX; five Brothers, Martin Martinez Wise, Jr. (Diane) of Round Rock, TX,
Benjamin Wise Sr. of Dallas, TX, Marvin Darnell Wise (Tomika) of San Antonio, TX, and
Edward DeWayne Wise (Danielle) of Dallas, TX.; two sisters Vanessa Hogues (Jessie) of
Nashville, TN, and Tamera Wise of Dallas, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
