Blanch Koth

Blanca Nieves “Blanch” Koth, age 79, of Kemp, TX passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020. She was born in Dallas, TX on May 2, 1940. Blanch graduated from Fox Tech High School in San Antonio, TX. She went on to lead a successful career as an office administrator for Southland Corporation, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank and Kemp Housing Authority.

Blanch (aka Grand) had many passions. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, PBS, solitaire, The Wheel of Fortune, all things Disney, traveling with her life-long friend Rick, banana pudding, and her endless dedication to the Dallas Cowboys. However, let’s not forget the many years of ‘Dynasty’ and ‘Knot’s Landing’, but most importantly, the do-not-disturb hour of Tom Selleck’s ‘Blue Blood’. She showed resilience and strength through her many challenges in life, but found sanctuary on her very own six-acre Southern Living custom-built home that she spent many years planning to perfection. She showed her kids and grandchildren what it meant to work hard and persevere. Her loving kindness, vibrant spirit, strong will, and sense of humor, will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jorge and Virginia Villareal; her siblings Susie Ramirez, Beatrice Silva and Mary Almaguer; her sons Charlie Soto and Rudy Soto; and her grandson Spencer Soto. She is survived by her children Susie Spaulding (Scott), Diane Lande (Chuck), Liz Hilton (Ed); her grandchildren Paul Avila Jr., Kristina Jones, Abbey Cheek, Garrett and Gillian Hilton, Jordan and Jeremy Lande, Sophie and Sydney Spaulding; her great-grandchildren Ilyana Gibson, Rachel Sanchez, Khloe and Shawn Jones, Codie, Anderson and Spencer Cheek; and her siblings Dolores Payne, George Reyes and Roy Reyes.

A funeral service will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, TX on Sunday February 2, 2020 at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Blanch’s honor to www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org.
