Bloyce Elvin Tarpley, age 92, passed away on July 9, 2019 in Mansfield, Texas. He was born August 16, 1926 in Mountain Park, Oklahoma to H. Everett Tarpley and Louise Cunningham. Bloyce was raised in Mountain Park, Oklahoma and graduated from Mountain Park High School in 1946. He married Barbara Snider in 1950 and the couple had three children. He was a postal clerk at the Lawton, Oklahoma Post Office where he worked for more than thirty years. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Garland, Texas. In his spare time, Bloyce enjoyed golf, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren. When his children were young, they enjoyed camping from time to time which they remember fondly. He took great pride in the ponds he built at his last two homes. One of them had a small stream with an arched bridge going across in order to enhance its beauty. He was a great craftsman. He made several pieces of beautiful furniture for his wife and rocking horses for his grandchildren. The horses came complete with flowing manes in order to bring more enjoyment and thrill to his grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, generous, and gentle man. He was devoted to his wife and family and freely gave of his plumbing services to the church which was always appreciated. When others were asked what they remember him saying most frequently, the response was, "I love my family." In his younger years, he developed a bone disease which left him with a permanent limp. However, this never resulted in complaining or preventing him from doing those things important to him. When you were with him, he always made you feel loved and happy. His children shared that if he were to address his church congregation today, they feel his message to them would be, "I've had a wonderful life." He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Tarpley; daughter, Janet Tarpley; son, Larry Gene Tarpley; and step-grandson, Arian Lakey. He is survived by his son, Garold Wayne Tarpley and his wife, Linda of Dallas; grand children, Kimberly Tarpley of Garland, Texas, Bryan Tarpley of Moore, Oklahoma, Stacy Tarpley of Del City, Oklahoma, Melissa Sumpter of Moore, Oklahoma, Cari Schroeder of Conroe, Texas, Michael Jaszkowiak of The Woodlands, Texas, Darcy Clift of Yukon, Oklahoma, Tammie Lamle of Tulsa, and Jamie Moore of Dallas. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and will be cherished by many other family and friends.
