

Bobby Frank Byrd was born in Greenville, TX, on October 4, 1930 to Ben Frank Byrd & Emma Wall. Deceased January 6th 2017 at the age 86. He married Carol Crossett on July 25, 1958. The family moved to Dallas when Bob was young. Bob excelled at everything that he was ever involved in. He attended Pleasant Grove High School and was a four year all star quarterback. He was injured in his senior year and never played again and lost his scholarship to Baylor University. He attended S.M.U. and later became well-known sheet metal draftsmen, and worked for some of the largest companies in the U.S. including Sam Wallace & McCally Company. Later in the marriage they purchased six acres in Sunnyvale and he designed and they built their dream home. They had a very large garden and orchard and they froze and canned their own produce & fruit. After thirty three years they sold it and the realtor described it as the perfect house plan. Bob was a natural born architect. He was also deacon chairman and president of the sheet metal local #68. Bobby is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol; son Robert Scott (Rebecca), daughter Debra Chapman (Michael); six grandchildren, Travis, Austin, Tyler & Kristine Chapman, and Meredith & Emma Byrd; brother in law Steve Crossett, and his precious companion, his dog Dottie. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Grove Hill Funeral Home at 2:00 pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
