Bobby Lynn Kendall

August 12, 1941September 8, 2019

Bobby Kendall, a long time Dallas resident, died in the early morning surrounded by his family on September 8, 2019. He was fondly known to his family and friends over the last few years as “Papa". Bobby was born on August 12, 1941, in Lonoke, Arkansas and moved to Dallas in the early 1970’s. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nilda Kendall; daughters, Melanie Kendall and Melissa Kendall Cipriano; son-in-law, John Cipriano; granddaughters, Alexis and Ava Cipriano; siblings, Bonnie Davis, Mary Jean Smith, David Kendall, Dennis Kendall, and many nieces and nephews.

Bobby worked for SMU in their maintenance department for over 25 years and loved being able to talk to anyone from the Chancellor to the students on campus. He always had a knack to fix anything, and loved to work in his wood shop and build all sorts of wood products. Bobby will always be remembered for his love of western television shows, country music, coin collecting, fishing, and his ability to always carry on a long conversation! During his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and his two granddaughters Alexis and Ava, who he always referred to as his little sweethearts!
