Bonnie Lynne "Mimi" Gill Eckert, 77, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away November 2, 2025. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 8, 1948.
Bonnie was married to David Wayne Eckert on September 4, 1965. Bonnie had a career in banking for World Savings Bank in Rockwall & Dallas, Texas. She was a member of St. Augustine Church/School and volunteered her time over ten years while her children went to school there, and had a passion for travel, reading and Bible study.
Bonnie was preceded in death by parents, William Lawson Gill (died February 27, 1977), and Betty Jeane Pearce Gill (died August 8, 2000).
She is survived by her husband, David Wayne Eckert and her two children, Chad Eckert of Lewisville, TX and Shawna Nortz and husband, Mike Nortz of Carrollton, TX. Also, Preston Rutherford and wife Brenda Rutherford, Tristan Eckert, Lillie Eckert and Clayton Rutherford.
Private funeral will be held for the family at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society were her wishes.
