Bonnie Jeanne Engel, 85, was born September 19, 1931, in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to Wilmer Grant Engel and Cecelia Eulalia Lutz Engel. She passed away on December 11, 2016. She graduated Bridgeville High School in 1949 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Music at Seton Hill College in 1953. She moved to Detroit where she taught elementary school music. While there, she met the love of her life, Harry, who was stationed there with the US Army. They met at a dance and Bonnie was smitten. Harry called the next day to ask if he could come over and they were married a few months later. They moved to Amarillo in 1958 and Harry went to work for the 3M Company. Bonnie stayed home to care for the children and continued her music passion at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she directed a production of the play, Hansel and Gretel, with the children of St. Joseph’s school. In 1966, Harry and Bonnie transferred to Dallas and joined St. Rita Catholic Church. Bonnie joined Holy Spirit Circle and met lifelong friends including Kathy Musso, Gail Costello and Sue Stack. The women began a guitar group called the Notes of Joy and these women played guitar and spread joy all around the Dallas area. Later in life, Bonnie worked at Brookhaven College and at FICS in a clerical role. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry, and her daughter, Tammy Dale Noble. She is survived by her brother, William Engel and sister, Betsy Pruss; daughter, Claudia Jeanne Stooksberry and husband, Kenny, sons John Grant Noble and Lance David Noble and granddaughter, Kai Noble McClary, grandchildren Tommy Fields, wife, Kellie and sons Cade and Colton, Christopher Fields and wife, Mandi, Mark Fields, wife, Katie and children Melana and Mitchell, Brad Fields, wife, Amber and children Braydon, Emersyn and Hudson, and Heather Fields West, husband, Brandon and daughter Ava Jeanne, the fourth generation to use Bonnie’s middle name of Jeanne. Services will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Calvary Hill, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas. Visitation at 1pm and Mass of Christian Burial at 2pm. Interment in Mausoleum to follow for immediate family.
