

Although born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Brad considered himself a true Texan, having lived in Dallas for over 40 years. He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University in 1978 and attended UT Southwestern Medical School, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1986. He remained at UT Southwestern for an additional year to serve as Chief Medical Resident. Brad went on to complete a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Hospital in 1989. He then returned to Dallas, where he continued practicing medicine for over 35 years. In 2012, he received a Master’s of Business Administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Brad married Martha Leonard in 1984, and the couple had two children. He lived a life defined by his unwavering love for his family and his resolute commitment to his patients. His family and friends will remember him as an exceptional father and an unfailingly kind friend. Brad was endearing, uniquely hilarious, and forever curious about the world around him. His humor and his love of learning will live on through his two children.
He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his best friend Martha Leonard, their son Dr. Samuel Leonard and his wife Chloe Leonard, their daughter Olivia Leonard, and her husband Jason Barnett, and his two siblings Neal Leonard and Alison Hannay, and their families.
His family will be hosting a lunch to celebrate his life at Terry Black's BBQ (3025 Main St, Dallas, TX 75226) on Thursday, February 13th from 12-2 pm.
In celebration of Brad, they kindly ask that you refrain from wearing black attire.
