CALL TO WORSHIP From Psalm 121:1-2, NRSV
I lift up my eyes to the hills—from where will my help come?
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
Let us worship God.
Music: Because He Lives
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (From the Book of Common Worship)
Let us now ask God to cleanse our hearts, to redeem our memories, and to renew our confidence in the goodness of God.
Holy God, you see us as we are, and know our inmost thoughts. We confess that we are unworthy of your gracious care. We forget that all life comes from you and that to you all life returns. We have not always sought or done your will. We have not lived as your grateful children, nor loved as Christ loved us. Apart from you, we are nothing. Only your grace can sustain us. Lord, in your mercy, forgive us, heal us and make us whole. Set us free from our sin, and restore to us the joy of your salvation now and forever. (Silent prayer)
DECLARATION OF PARDON From John 3, NRSV
Hear the good news!
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
Friends, believe the good news of the gospel.
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

PRAYERS AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
THE PEACE From John 14, NRSV
Hear the words of our Lord Jesus Christ:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”

Music: When We Die by Bowling for Soup
After Glow
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave When life is done.
