Caralon Marlen Rivers

Caralon Marlen McGlotten-Rivers was born on January 19, 1956. To the late Geneva West McGlotten and Everett A. McGlotten. Sr. at Peninsula General Hospital, Salisbury, Maryland. After the death of her loving father in 1967, she was raised by her loving and caring stepmother Elizabeth “Betty” McGlotten.

Caralon received her education at Cooper’s Poynt Elementary and Camden High School both in Camden, New Jersey. Upon graduating, she continued her studies and became a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She began her career working at Cooper River Convalescent Home in Camden, New Jersey. Caralon enjoyed helping and taking care of others. She also, enjoyed cooking for her family and at family gatherings, and visiting her hometown “San Domingo” on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Later in life Caralon moved to Dallas, Texas for a fresh start. Her children and grandchildren soon followed.

In Dallas she met new friends, co-workers and neighbors. She began to enjoy life again.

She loved spending time with her children and cooking for grandchildren.

Caralon leaves to cherish loving memories with her husband William Rivers; two children Billy T. Rivers and Karen Rivers - Gindratt of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren; Brianna, Myajia, Dayshawn, Zaire, Dayquan, Brooklynn, Zion and Dayvion; two stepsons, Maurice and Germaine Curry of Camden, New Jersey; son-in-law, Claude Gindratt; four sisters, Barbara West-Purnell, Seaford, Delaware, Juanita West-Waller, Georgetown, Delaware, Tanya Miller, Camden, New Jersey and Crystal McGlotten, Denver, Colorado, brothers, Everett “Butch” McGlotten, Kevin Frazier both of New Castle, Delaware and Anthony McGlotten, Denver, Colorado, one aunt Cathy McGlotten, Salisbury, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents and stepmother Caralon was preceded in death by two sisters, Hope Brown and Hortense Miller; four brothers, Mark McGlotten, Everett “Junie Boy” McGlotten, Tyrone McGlotten and Wayne West; paternal grandparents, Robert and Martha McGlotten; nephew Antwan Brown; aunt Lydia McGlotten; uncle Robert McGlotten, Jr.; stepson Tyrone Curry.
