Mr. Carl "Tony" Anthony Rogers
June 21, 1949 – September 6, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Anthony “Tony” Rogers announces his passing after battling cancer on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the age of 69 years. Tony will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Dian, his children Melissa and Christopher, and his son-in-law Jeffrey Kime, Jr. Tony will also be fondly remembered by his sister Wilma “Sug” Williams. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Laura Rogers; brothers Verlin “Bud” Rogers, Arthur “Junior” Rogers, and Ira “Rick” Rogers; and his sisters Leola Harmon, Marquita “Rose” Rabey, and Dessie “Dee” Harty. Tony will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Tony was a proud alumnus from Manila High School in Manila, AR and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. He served twelve years in the US Army as a member of the Air Defense Artillery. After 18 years of dedicated service as a computer programmer, he retired from the City of Dallas in 2009. Tony’s many interests included music, science fiction novels, military history and firearms, and genealogy. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6000 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX, 75232. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on the day of the service.
